First thing in the morning I make a cup of coffee for Galia before she gets out of bed, this is to go with the cigarette she has as her normal Bulgarian styled breakfast. No different this morning as the coffee is made and placed in the bathroom next to one cigarette and lighter. Back to the bedroom to get my work clothes on and a gentle kiss for Galia to wake her. It was at this point that something wasn't right; Galia didn't stir as she normally does. The penny right at that moment dropped, it was Saturday no work for Galia today, it was 6:40 in the morning, what do I do now. This happened because there is never any time here that we have lay ins, we are normally at the farmhouse non working days!

Saturday - I Know Now!

I once had a swiss colleague n he told me that in order for his family (dad was head of the crew then) to hv a bit of a holiday, neighbours in the hills "trade" in their farms for a few weeks n a change of scenery. This way, the cows get melked on time n go their merry way ! Pretty nifty, dont u think ?
ReplyDeleteI remember when I moved to France I couldn't believe I had school on Saturday mornings! It's a real eye opener to see how different countries take to work ethic compared to the UK.
